Synopsis of Plays
(Forty-seventh Production of Natasena) First performance – November 29th, 2008
What a conversation of the day between two protagonists of the play ‘FATA GOPAL’ which is imbued by the story of Subrata Halder and written by the eminent playwright Rajat Ghosh.
The peculiar dialogues run thus:
Amulya Hati (An uncompromising Jailor):
"My head is getting blurred. You have behind the bars for three years for a murder case and you are talking gibberish in open to me? How dare you?"
Fata Gopal (An anti-social and a murderer):
"It troubles me such to tackle the learned government officials like you. The officer like you knows nothing except papers, files, orders and small pieces of papers stamp with Gandhiji's head."
This is the picture of law and lawlessness Amulya Hati, an invaluable person with elephantal firmness and massive human values jolts at every step and is forced to accept frequent transfers from his higher authorities. But the hindrances make him stubborn instead of making him meek and mean.
Will his individual efforts sustain? Or will he become the helpless victim of dry laws? Can he be able to reveal the real Truth?
All these questions have been mirrored in the drama ‘FATA GOPAL’ tinged with radial satire.
